Gallus Brothers

The Gallus Brothers joined us at the 2010 Harvest Dinner to provide wonderful entertainment.

The Gallus Brothers have spent the last three years entertaining crowds up and down the west coast of North America. Comprised of only two members, Devin Champlin and Lucas Hicks, their sound and presence on stage is large and captivating. Champlin plays rollicking good country blues on a reso-phonic guitar while Hicks carries the music to a whole new level with a rhythmic contraption kit made of spoons, bones, a suitcase and an antique grab bag of tom foolery.

Their repertoire is varied and unique. Drawing from the annals of early American music from obscure to popular, this duo performs songs lifted from dusty 78 rpm records. Their music gets the young shakin' it and the old singing along. With a nod to vaudevillian tradition, the brothers pepper their act with juggling, humor and acrobalance.

In addition to becoming hometown heroes through a diligent weekly performance ethic in Bellingham, Washington, the Gallus Brothers have made a name for themselves on the west coast and beyond through the newly emerging network of young folks excited about early American music.
